Week 14 – Week of 05/26/2012 WEEKLY SUMMARY
Time to get back on track… I’m not one to make excuses about things. The choices I make today impact what I see tomorrow… health and fitness are no exception to this.
One thing I like about blogging about my “weight loss/getting fit and healthy” journey is that I am held accountable for my choices and my progress.
The other thing that I like is that it assists me in seeing patterns. I can see what triggers certain choices – eating patterns, exercise habits, and challenges.
You may remember that I am a tech geek and I like charts graphs and analysis.
As I said, it is time to get back on track… and back to tracking!
Week 14 - Week of 05/26/2012
Weekly Weight – Loss/ + Gain: +1.8
Total Weight – Loss/ + Gain: -15.2
Total Inches Lost: -9.5
Fitness/Activity:
41383 steps taken
80 floors climbed
18.08 miles traveled
I calculated my stride today. It is approximately 28 inches when walking. FitBit calculates mileage automatically based on my stats. I have a premium membership with that site, but I am not fully utilizing those tools. One step at a time…
Looking at my graphs weekly I can see that the weeks where I gained weight were in direct correlation to somewhat stressful events.
Spikes occurring during weeks such as my mothers hospitalization(s) and most recently dealing with divorce “drama”…
When experiencing stressful situations I find that I fall into bad habits. For instance, this week my number one guy was out of town and mom and I ate out – a lot! I was dealing with divorce issues and succumbed to my cravings for carbs and comfort food mainly because my normal coping method was not easily accessible – he comes home tomorrow.
Fred does a great job of helping me make better choices. Besides the fact that he appreciates and loves me always, regardless of the loss or gain, he often makes suggestions for better choices, and he does this in a way that is not derogatory or condescending. While I do not require household members to forgo those items that they enjoy, I am okay with cookies and candy in the house, they are considerate of my needs as well. Especially my need for Baskin and Robins this week!
When I am showing a gain, I am encouraged to make better choices, and at the same time when I CHOOSE to eat something that I know is not the best choice I am not made to feel like a failure. He’s pretty good about holding me accountable too… no complaining from me about the consequences of my poor choices.
This week, Weight Watchers introduced a new challenge. Live Life Active
I was doing pretty well in the “activity” area up until I started my new, mostly sedentary job, and now I am not getting in the walks that I should (Tot is not very happy about that… poor doggy)…
This was just what I needed to get myself motivated again. I started tracking again on Weight Watchers eTools AND on the FitBit site.
On a side note, I wonder if Weight Watchers realizes that there is a blog by the name of Live Life Active?
If I am going to reach my 60+ lb weight loss goal on time (November 2012), I better get myself back on track…
